𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐎𝐝𝐝𝐬: 𝐆𝐮𝐥𝐳𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐢’𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫

Gulzar Ali is a remarkable 17-year-old student from the village of Ballygond in Gilgit Baltistan, enrolled in 6th grade at Khawaja Abdul Majid Takmil School. Despite his special needs and numerous obstacles, Gulzar’s passion for education and determination to overcome adversity make him a shining example of resilience.

Gulzar’s family has faced significant financial hardships, particularly since the loss of his father 15 years ago. The family’s sole breadwinner is Gulzar’s elder brother, who works as a laborer to support his three younger brothers and sister. With limited income and no additional support, financial constraints have delayed Gulzar’s education, leaving him behind his age group peers.

In addition to his schooling, Gulzar plays an active role in supporting his family by performing daily chores. He gathers wood from the nearby hills and herds goats to help ease the burden on his elder brother. Despite these demanding responsibilities, Gulzar remains committed to his studies, demonstrating exceptional time management and perseverance.

Gulzar is deeply passionate about education, with Urdu being his favorite subject because of its clarity and simplicity. His love for learning is further reflected in his active participation in school activities like Bazm-e-Adab, where he showcases his skills in poetry and speech. His teachers, especially Sir Sakhawat Wali, have noticed his strong potential and continue to encourage his progress.

Gulzar dreams of becoming a doctor, a profession he greatly admires. However, the journey toward realizing this dream is fraught with challenges. The lack of proper schooling facilities and transportation in his village, combined with his disability, severely limits his ability to fully access educational opportunities. While he has a keen desire to boost his talents and pursue higher education, these barriers stand in the way of his aspirations.

The Need for Support:

To achieve his dream of becoming a doctor, Gulzar requires external support. His current school does not offer the specialized resources or environment needed to help him advance beyond his current situation. With better facilities and access to a reputed educational institute, Gulzar is confident that he can overcome the limitations of his disability and financial hardships.

Gulzar Ali’s story is one of determination, resilience, and hope. Despite his challenging circumstances, he remains steadfast in his pursuit of education and his dream of becoming a doctor. With the right support from donors, Gulzar has the potential to break free from the barriers that hold him back and achieve his full potential. Investing in Gulzar’s education is not only an investment in his future, but in the future of his family and community as well.

Your support can transform Gulzar’s dreams into reality, giving him the tools and resources needed to succeed in life.

Aliza’s Journey From Dreams in the Dark to Bright Horizons

Meet Aliza Baloch, a vibrant 13-year-old from a small village in Balochistan, where education was once a distant dream. Aliza is a Grade 6 student at Shaheed Khushnoodzeb School, a place she cherishes deeply, not just because of its proximity to her home, but for the life-changing opportunities it has brought her.

Before joining TAKMIL, Aliza’s life revolved around household chores—washing clothes, cleaning the house, and taking care of her younger siblings. Education seemed like an unreachable goal, but that all changed when she joined the school. Now, she proudly balances her daily tasks with her passion for learning, all while helping her siblings with their studies.

Aliza has a deep love for English, calling it her favorite subject because of her fascination with the language. When she’s not busy with schoolwork, you can find her reading, writing, painting, or crafting beautiful traditional Balochi dresses at home. Aliza also enjoys spending time with her best friends—Faiza, Sumiya, Zainab, and Jaweria—and her favorite part of school is engaging in fun game activities.

Recently, Aliza won 3rd prize in a Debate competition held during the International Literacy Day event, organized by the Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education in Quetta, Balochistan. Her remarkable achievement is a testament to her hard work and determination!

Her biggest dream is to become a doctor, motivated by the fact that there are no doctors in her village. Aliza believes her village’s simplicity is what makes it beautiful, but she also knows that it needs more resources, especially healthcare. She is determined to one day fill that gap.

One of her greatest inspirations is her teacher, Hussain Ahmed, who she describes as kind and hardworking. He supports her not just in the classroom, but even after school, helping her with difficult homework. Aliza learns quickly, often mastering concepts faster than her peers.

Reflecting on her journey, Aliza says, “Before TAKMIL, my life was so dark, and education was just a dream for me. I had no aim. Now, I see all my dreams becoming a reality.”

Aliza’s story is a shining example of how education can transform a life. With the support of TAKMIL, she is now on a path to realizing her dreams, showing us that with determination, any obstacle can be overcome.

𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐌𝐈𝐋 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚, 𝐊𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐊𝐏𝐊

In the heart of Khyber Agency, surrounded by rugged mountains and adorned with plains, lies the picturesque village of Kalanga Aka Khel. This tranquil settlement, with its barren yet enchanting terrain, is a testament to nature’s resilience, mirroring the indomitable spirit of its inhabitants.

The people of Kalanga Aka Khel, numbering around 4000, cultivate the land with dedication, primarily focusing on crops like Jawar (Sorghum) and Wheat. Their agricultural endeavors extend to cultivating vegetables such as onions and potatoes, contributing not only to their sustenance but also creating a vibrant community that shares its produce.

The residents, known for their friendly nature, form a close-knit society where the bonds of camaraderie are woven into the fabric of everyday life. In times of joy and sorrow, they stand united, reflecting the essence of true community living.

Before the arrival of TAKMIL, the educational landscape in Kalanga Aka Khel was barren, much like its terrain. The absence of formal and non-formal schools within a 2-kilometer radius meant that the children aged 6 to 15, often labored in the fields alongside their parents. Education was not considered a priority, and the older boys often sought employment in larger cities to contribute to their family’s livelihood.

In 2022, the Shaheed Mobeen Shah School opened its doors, heralding a new era for the children of Kalanga Aka Khel. Abid Afridi, a dedicated young man pursuing a BS in Nursing told the whole story and situation of the village. He started as a teacher in 2022 at Shaheed Mobeen Shah School but later he took on the role of a TAKMIL schools coordinator and overseeing 7 schools in KPK, determined to change the narrative.

The impact was transformative. For the first time, the village children were not only gaining an education but also participating in the Lahore Science Expo 2023. This significant achievement marked a historic moment for Kalanga Aka Khel, as its students stood shoulder to shoulder with thousands of schools from across the nation.

Through TAKMIL’s intervention, the village that once echoed with the winds of missed opportunities now resonates with the laughter and dreams of its children. The school has become a symbol of hope, breaking the shackles of ignorance and paving the way for a brighter future.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐳𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐡: 𝐀 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

In the heart of Muzaffargarh, along the tranquil banks of the River Chenab, lies Kanday Wala Basti Metla, a village obscured by the shadows of neglect. Cattle farming and the sale of dairy products have long been the lifeblood of this community, pushing its residents to seek opportunities beyond the city or even abroad.

However, beneath the pastoral exterior, a stark reality prevailed—deprivation of education. Before the intervention of TAKMIL, Kanday Wala Basti Metla remained untouched by the light of learning. A desolate landscape echoed with the sounds of child labor, as 8-9-year-olds toiled, denied the chance to experience the transformative power of education.

Mazhar Mehmood, a beacon of hope from the village, endured a formidable journey for his education. Trekking long distances for each academic milestone, he harbored a fervent belief that the children of his village should be spared such hardships. In 2020, he initiated a survey, unveiling the absence of any educational institution. Confronting parents, many grappling with addiction and unaware of education’s significance, proved to be his greatest challenge.

Enter TAKMIL, and the trajectory of Kanday Wala Basti Metla shifted dramatically. The Shaheed Bilal Arshad School emerged in 2021, a testament to resilience and commitment. After persistent dialogues with parents, their resolve crumbled, paving the way for children to embrace the gift of education.

Today, these young minds, once bound by circumstance, flourish in Grade 8 under TAKMIL’s wings. Aspirations have ignited, with dreams of professionalism taking root. The Lahore Science Expo became a stage for Kanday Wala Basti Metla’s students, showcasing DNA models and Neural Network AI projects. Parents, once skeptical, now beam with pride, expressing gratitude for TAKMIL’s transformative impact. They did not only learn during the project participation but also learnt from the others who came to the Science Expo. The best experience for them was to see the historical places of Lahore which boosted their morale as what the syllabus was showing them, they are now watching with their eyes.

In the classrooms of Shaheed Bilal Arshad School, futures are being rewritten, social evils are being challenged, and a village is awakening to the promise of a brighter tomorrow. The tale of Kanday Wala Basti Metla is no longer one of neglect; it’s a narrative of hope, education, and the unstoppable force of positive change.

Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Kalanga Aka Khel, Baara Khyber Agency, where mountains, historical architectures, and nature weave tales of a rich heritage, lived a 13 year old young boy, named Muhammad Adnan. His days were once consumed by the responsibilities of tending to the family’s cattle, confined to the vast expanse of their homestead. In a locality devoid of educational opportunities, his dreams were seemingly tethered to the rugged terrains of his surroundings.

Then TAKMIL, broke the shackles that bound Adnan’s aspirations. In August 2022, the Shaheed Hamad Malik School emerged as a beacon of knowledge in their otherwise educationally barren locality. Adnan, once confined to the rural duties of his home, found himself stepping into the realm of learning. Within a year, he transformed into a beacon of inspiration for his community.

From the quiet hills of Baara Khyber Agency, Muhammad Adnan and his team propelled themselves into the limelight. His exceptional performance not only saw him complete Grade 5 but also earned him a coveted spot to present his science model at the Lahore Science Expo 2023 – a feat that resonated far beyond the confines of his village.

For the first time, Kalanga Aka Khel echoed with the pride of a young visionary, as Muhammad Adnan became the first participant from his village in a national event. As he prepares for promotion to Grade 6 after a successful assessment, his dreams have soared to new heights. Inspired by the wonders of science unveiled in Lahore, Muhammad Adnan aspires to become a doctor, a testament to the transformative power of education and the boundless potential that flourishes when opportunities are nurtured in the heart of nature’s beauty.
