In the quiet village of Toheedabad, where dusty fields stretch under the burning Punjab sun, lives a 13-year-old girl with a heart full of ambition and a dream bigger than her surroundings. Meet Hamna Farooqโa student of Grade 7 at Adil Shahzad TAKMIL School and a symbol of what can happen when opportunity meets determination.
Hamna comes from a humble home. Her father, Farooq Aziz, works tirelessly in the agricultural fields and also serves as an Imam in the local mosque, guiding his community spiritually while providing for his four children. Like many girls in remote villages, Hamnaโs first steps in education began at a local madrassaโher only available option for learning.
But everything changed in August 2022, when TAKMIL opened a school in her village.
For the first time, Hamna sat in a classroom with books, science charts, and a teacher guiding her through lessons in math, English, and beyond. It didnโt take long for her to shine. Quiet yet curious, Hamna quickly developed a deep love for learningโespecially science. She dreams of becoming a doctor, not for status or money, but to heal, educate, and empower the very community that raised her.
After school, Hamna still helps her parents with daily chores, but now she does it with purposeโwith a future in sight. Every page she turns brings her closer to a life where she can serve others through knowledge and compassion.
Hamnaโs story is not just about one girl. Itโs about thousands of girls in Pakistan who are waiting for someone to believe in them, to open a classroom door, and to say, โYou belong here.โ
With your support, TAKMIL is turning that belief into reality.
Because when a girl learnsโa village heals.
